I am behind on my car payments, I am trying to sell the car but I cannot find anyone to buy it for what it is worth and for the amount of the loan balance. Is there a way the bank would accept a short sale instead of re possessing the car?

We are in the process of buying a home. After a long wait…we have finally come to closing this weekend. Since this was a short sale home… the process was long drawn and our realtor was with us every step of the way. At closing, we would like to gift her something nice but … i have no idea what a good gift would be. Can somebody give suggestions?

I like the "wish come true" because she is a realtor and that is what she does for her clients, helps them realize their dreams I guess.

I know several people who’s banks will not allow them to do a short sale instead of being foreclosed upon. Is there something in it for the banks (tax write-offs?) that makes it more beneficial for them to deny short sales?
Some of the people have had a buyer ready to buy if they were allowed a short sale too.

typically the banks prefer the short sale over a foreclosure. It’s not that they do not want a short sale per se’, the offer for the property has to make sense.

The bank or lien holder will have to weigh it’s option of selling the loan on the wholesale market at 50 to 60 cents on the dollar to a discount loan servicer -vs- a short sale offer that may be less.

Typically, it’s the agent or broker working the short sale making errors in the process that causes a home to go to foreclosure. This is only my opinion as I process numerous short sales per month and see the mistakes.
